"The Last 48 Hours". ...11 years ago... (January 16th, 2008) Kadie Lee Major and River Lynn Major were found deceased adjacent to a railroad track in Berkeley County off of Oakley Rd by a railroad worker performing maintenance work.
Her truck was later found approximately 1/2 mile from their bodies parked half heartedly in a residential driveway. This area is approximately 1 mile from Kadie's parents home.
This area is very dark and desolate. That night it was a cold ice rain.
The day before, January 15th, 2008
Kadie had an appointment to find if she was having a boy or girl. She brought River Lynn over to our house for us to babysit.
She did ask to speak to her father about some concerns she had of Aaron, her husband, which i will discuss at another time.
When she returned from the appointment, she had a huge smile on her face as I watched her get out of her vehicle from my kitchen window anxious to hear the news. I had my precious grand daughter River Lynn in my arms. The big news... it's a boy. Aadon Robert Major.
Her phone was broken so she used my phone to call Aaron's mother to share the news.
Thinking Aaron's Mom (Rahnda Major) would be excited she was having a baby boy because as i shared earlier Aaron Major her husband was the last Major to carry on the Major name. But when Kadie told her she was expecting a boy, she said, back to Kadie, " Oh, i was hoping for a girl". Kadie and I found this very odd. Then an argument pursued about Aaron's Mom keeping River Lynn on an overnight stay. Kadie told , Aaron's Mom that she would not be keeping River Lynn on an overnight stay. Aaron's Mom was arguing that she already had a crib....
Next, Kadie, used my phone to call her father to tell him the news. Her Father was elated to be having a grandson! We were all so excited. Our first grand son.
Sarah, Kadie's younger sister was also present. We helped Kadie pack up and carried River Lynn to the vehicle.
This is the last time Sarah and I saw them alive... We were all so elated and happy!!! All we can do is cherish them memories!!!
I did later talk to Kadie on the phone that evening... Still excited!!!
I will post more tomorrow and continue telling details about" The Last 48 Hours"
Love and miss them dearly!!!
I can tell you with every ounce of strength i have that Kadie did not commit suicide nor take the life of River Lynn or her unborn son Aadon. Im still waiting for Kadie's husband and his parents to prove me wrong. It would be easier to except a suicide than for them being murdered by the person who was supposed to love and protect them.
Im hoping against all hope that Aaron and his parents will go talk to Berkeley County Sheriff's Office cold case Detectives. Answer their questions. Take a lie detector test.

The Last 48 Hours, cont'd....
Wednesday, January 16th, 2008
Started like any other day! Little did we know the worst nightmare that still effects everyone who knew and loved Kadie and her babies, every day!!! Its like a nuclear bomb went off and the fall out continues... But by the grace of God, we carry on!
As you may remember I mentioned in my previous post that Kadie talked to her Dad while here at her parents house concerning her husband Aaron Major. Aaron worked for Kadie's father painting apartments as a sub contractor. She asked her Dad if he could help Aaron at work. She said she was concerned that he was very stressed out. Her Father said, yes!
So Jeff, Kadie's father made arrangements to go to Aaron's job site in North Charleston and brought three other workers to help Aaron. Two of them being Kadie's brothers, Jeremy and Jesse.
The only thing I can say is the day did not go well for Aaron. Jeff found out some money issues with Aaron not being forth coming. This is all according to Jeff, Kadie's Dad.
In the meantime time, Sarah and I (Kadie's sister), went mid morning to go buy some baby clothes for the exciting news of a baby boy! We thought we would surprise Kadie with them but when we went to her house around 12:30, no one was home so we left the bag of clothes on the front door knob.
In the meantime,. Kadie had stopped by her parents house to visit us but we missed each other. Remember her cell phone is broken. Jeff, her father says he saw her pull up to the job site where everyone is there helping Aaron. He talks to her. She asks where Aaron is and tells her Dad she's going shopping. He said he played with River Lynn a little bit.
Approximately, 6:30 pm as I'm driving to Applebee's I called Sarah and asked her to send Kadie a fax to call me.
Then at 6:43 pm my phone rings as Im driving back from Applebee's with my son Jesse in the truck, its Kadie.
She thanks me for the clothes left on the door. Tells me Aaron's Mom might be calling in as she started returning a call to Aaron's Mom then saw my fax. Hung up Aaron's Moms call and called me. I told her I was driving from Applebee's. She thought i was at Applebee's and wanted to come there. Told me Aaron was in the shower. I told her no, I'm not there i had called in an order and was driving back home. We discussed a few other things and I told her I better go because I was driving and it had started raining and dark out. Told her "Love you!" ( Last time, Id ever get to speak to her on this side of Heaven)
Back at home, we ate dinner and went to sleep. Until Jeff and I were woken up by a phone call at 1:44 am by Kadie's husband Aaron Robert Major. Kadie's Dad answer and Aaron said, " I need to come in and talk to you about something"
HE NEVER ASKED, HAVE YOU HEARD FROM KADIE? IS KADIE THERE? HAS KADIE CALLED YOU? That is one of many, many things that haunted us every day from then on... We were a very close family. But we had no reason to think Aaron would lie.
He came inside our house with this story that Kadie thought someone was going to kill her and she left when he was in the shower. Then wanted to talk about stuff like our government blew up the twin towers and religious conspiracy. But he let us think she went to a hotel. He convinced me not to call the police. I knew Aaron for 10 years, i trusted him.
I will continue tomorrow....

"The last 48 Hours"
Cont'd....
Little did we know at this time approximately 2:30/ 3:00 am that before noon, on January 17th, 2008, we would all receive the news that Kadie and River Lynn would be found deceased, less than a mile from our home. We now are certain Aaron knew when he showed up here at 1:44 am... that their lifeless bodies laid, not far away! One of many things that terrorize me as a parent, did Kadie scream for my help ... Or was she placed their dead already. Many nights, to many to count and still now, i lay wondering with that fear, and dread, if only I could have known to help save them!
So continuing on and summarizing the events...
Another thing that stays in my mind is Aaron sat so calmly. Had one hand cupped over the other hand. We asked what do you mean Kadie went to a hotel? I'm pulling my hair asking, does she have her glasses. Aaron says No! I'm like she won't drive without her glasses at night. Never, and not before River Lynn and especially not with River in the vehicle!!!
Eventually, Aaron left, summarizing, and I had him go with me in my vehicle, first thing am to check local hotels.
As, I'm driving searching intently, and driving through hotel parking lots, I'm noticing, Aaron is not looking. I'm asking myself, why is he not looking for her vehicle?
I noticed several odd things with him favoring his right hand. I was driving him around at one point. When he got in the truck and closed the door with his right hand, he said, "ouch!" And then at another point, he held his right hand up, and, I'm saying to myself, oh, my God, WHY does his hand look all swollen? And then minutes later when he opened the truck door, as he was sitting in the passenger side to get out, he reached over himself and opened the door with his left hand. All this stays burned in your mind.
We got in separate vehicles. He's supposed to go search hotels in Summerville. Im headed to search hotels in Goose Creek and North Charleston. Its now approximately 10:30 am.
I got a call from Aaron, that he's now going to Columbia to look for them. Doesn't go check hotels in Summerville. This made no sense. Kadie has never been to Columbia. But nothing was making sense since he showed up at 1:44 am.
Then i get another call from Aaron, at 11:31 am. Telling me that i need to go to Oakley Rd. That a train hit a vehicle and two people are dead. I went. Im looking for a train. No train. I look for a wrecked vehicle. Nope. No emergency vehicles. I see a few unmarked vehicles, I knew something had happened but didn't look like no train hit a vehicle. I keep driving because im now headed to the police department. I didn't care anymore about Aaron not wanting me to call the police.
I drive over the railroad tracks and keep going. And I see what looks like Kadie's vehicle. Im frantic like, No, why would her vehicle be here.
It's her vehicle, i fall to my knees!
I called Aaron first,. I told him, i found Kadie's truck. He didn't ask no questions. Just said, i know, i know, i just heard on the radio that a woman and small child were killed. Never asked no questions. And wanted off the phone. So he is the one who told me they were dead. But asks no questions!
He calls back and wants to know what the police are doing. Again, never asks what am I witnessing?
I ended up being surrounded by police and was told, they were deceased.
Horrific!
The question is how did Aaron know to send me to Oakley Rd? No street was ever announced on the radio or TV. Only that two people died in BERKELEY COUNTY. Why do you think he was headed to Columbia?
Do you think he would want to face this himself and have to shake hands with the police with a broken right hand?
That might be one reason, he panicked and sent me to a location, he should have not known about. The old cops wouldn't listen to me for some reason?? The new task force is listening and now investigating everything!!! There is No Perfect Murder (s). Please continue to pray for truth...
I will continue writing more about the next several days and all the odd behavior, Kadie's husband Aaron and his parents David and Rahnda Major did, as we (Kadie and River Lynn's maternal family) are all trying to comprehend this senseless loss of our dearly loved and treasured daughter and grandchildren...

The next several days
Summarizing...
Still on Oakley Road... I was surrounded by several police officers. Right in front of my face was Captain Ric Ollic.
His first question was,
"Who sent you here?" I said, Kadie's husband, Aaron Major!
He then asked, " Where is he?" I told him, "headed to Columbia." I remember some officers hurried away when i said that and left in their police cars.
Then he had me call Aaron and tell him to go to my house. Which I did. Aaron asked no questions, again, about Kadie and River.
Then he asked me, "is there any one Kadie is afraid of?" I immediately said "yes, Aaron's mother, Rahnda Major."
One of many examples of Kadie and Rahnda's rocky relationship.
Kadie had told me that she was meeting Rahnda Major at Kmart in North Charleston on Wednesday afternoons because Rahnda wanted River Lynn one day a week. Kadie told me she was meeting Rahnda there because she didn't want to be alone at her house with Aaron's mother. So she agreed to meet Rahnda Major at Kmart in a public place and let her have River Lynn from approximately 1:00 - 5:00 pm.
Kadie told me she goes and does some shopping while Rahnda has River Lynn and then meets her back at Kmart. To this day 11 years later, I do not know if Kadie met Rahnda Major at Kmart on the Wednesday, January 16th, 2008. Because there is no statement in the file from her that i am aware of.
And to this day, what I believe, she still has not answered detective questions. If she has agreed to be questioned, hopefully she will correct me.
Back to the scene on Oakley Road where Kadie's truck was found.
After a few questions, Captain Ollic had me get in a police car and I was driven home. I know Coroner Salisbury and Captain Ollic were here and other officers. Other family members were showing up, going crazy with grief, Kadie's father being one of them.
The next thing I knew, the Coroner and Captain were taking Aaron out of my house. He had come in and sat on my couch just feet away from where I was standing. Aaron, never came to me to ask me what did I know. What happened? Is Kadie's truck badly damaged? Nothing!!! Not a word to nobody. I didn't even know he was there. He just sat there quietly on the couch.
They took Aaron away, to question him and get a statement. One of the detectives wrote the statement for him because he was to upset. I personally believe his hand was broken and he could not write the statement.
In the meantime time, his parents show up in the driveway at Kadie's parents house, and they also ask no questions. Just wanted to know where Aaron is.
Then the next day, Friday, January 18th, 2008, I received a phone call from Rahnda Major, which was to be the beginning of severing our cordual relationship.
A few of the several things she called to talk to me about was that Aaron wanted a private graveside funeral. Only Aaron would be allowed to be there at the graveside funeral no public nor family nor friends, Just Aaron.
She also informed me that she had talked to Pastor Fritz (Young) and that he told her that we do not have to answer the detective's questions. She also told me not to tell the detectives what Aaron is talking about. The religious and government conspiracy theories. She also said Vicky don't tell the detectives what he is saying because we don't want the detectives to think that they are religious fanatics. And then she said, but this stuff is true, Vicky.
So about 12 hours of finding out her pregnant daughter-in-law and granddaughter were found deceased, she's advising me not to answer the detective's questions.
Of course we were answering all the questions the Detectives wanted to ask us...
I don't know if Pastor Fritz Young gave her that advice for sure or not. I had never heard of him before this phone call from Aaron's Mother Rahnda.
Hopefully that will all come out in this search for truth and justice for Kadie and her babies.
I will write more ... Concerning the next few days leading up to the funeral...

Continuing the "Next Several Days"
Summarizing.
Another thing Rahnda Major told me in that phone call Friday morning, was that they were going to to be bury them in Wagner, South Carolina. Hours from Charleston, at a family plot they already owned and that's where the private graveside service for only Aaron would be.
I'm like "What"?? These are my precious loved ones. Why so inconsiderate? I wasn't asked my opinion, i was being told how things were going to be.
So Kadie's Father and I drove over to Kadie and Aaron's house where Aaron and his parents were.
We went in and at first Aaron would not talk. Would not look at us. Just looked down. I tried asking him questions about this private graveside service. He wouldn't talk or look up.
Summarizing, after his Mom physically put her hands on me Aaron decided to talk. We were only there a few minutes when Coroner Bill Salisbury called Aaron or one of his parents and said he was on his way over.
While waiting for the Coroner to arrive, i decided, im going up stairs to look around. I went upstairs to River Lynn's room and was grieving standing at her crib when Aaron walked in. He looks at me with a real strange look on his face, no emotions of sadness or grief and says, " Isn't it odd that Kadie thought someone was going to kill her and someone did."
I'll never forget the emotionless statement. No emotions standing at his now dead daughters crib.
I looked around the master bedroom next, Aaron following me and im summarizing. I said to Aaron, "I thought you said, there was not a fight." Why are Kadie's clothes pulled all out of her drawers. It clearly looked like someone was packing to leave in the bathroom too.
He said, I just did that looking for something to bury her in. We know that was a lie, is all I can say
We go downstairs and Coroner Bill Salisbury walks in with two detectives following. He immediately announces he believes Kadie committed suicide and had post pardem depression. No mention of how River Lynn died.
Aaron and his parents jump on board and agree. Jeff and I, (Kadie's parents) are like "what?" Were the autopsies even finished? They were started at 9:00 am this same morning.
Just minutes prior Aaron made the statement to me isn't it odd that Kadie thought someone was going to kill her and someone did, and now he's agreeing with the Coroner that she committed suicide. What about River Lynn, how did she die?
I can say Kadie's father, Jeff, and I were speechless. Shocked at what the Coroner was saying, shocked that Aaron and his parents were agreeing with him.
At the Coroner's suggestion and leading, we ended up with an appointment at Dial Murray Funeral Home for the next day Saturday. I will pick up here, on my next post. Watch video below this post for more information.

Before I start in on the next day, Saturday, at the funeral home, I'd like to make a comment about the case's progress. The BCSO and the cold case team is only the first half of the process to obtain justice. And they are doing an outstanding job! The other half of the process for truth and justice is our Prosecutors. The investigating team can do an outstanding job but if you don't have prosecutor's willing to do circumstancial cases its all in vain. Everyone is over worked and overloaded but this was the loss of three innocent lives. We need a prosecutor willing to roll up their sleeves and dig in as much as this cold case team has in BCSO lead by Lt. Detective Dean Kokinda. I've been told through the community that our local prosecutor's do not take circumstancial cases. I just have to wonder if this was their daughter and grandchildren, would they be willing to prosecute? Not all cases have a confession or the video tape of the murder. The cases without the above need to get tried as well especially when you have a STRONG circumstancial case. Your input is very welcome on this matter. And please correct me if Im wrong.
Continuing, Saturday, January 19th, 2008.
Summarizing...
Both families
meet at Dial Murray Funeral home and are seated at large round table.
Present includes Jeff and I, (Kadie's parents) Shelly Cooper, the funeral director, Aaron, his parents, David and Rahnda Major, his sister Aimee Steinberger.
Everything is going well as far as answering questions. Getting all the legal names correct in the families when Shelly receives a phone call.
She takes the call sitting in front of us all, hangs up and announces that was the Coroner and he called to say he has the exact time of death on Kadie.
I look at Aaron and He looks like he had just seen a ghost. He turns pale white. He can't answer any more questions.
Shelly asks him what is Kadie's date of birth? He doesn't know. Then asks him what is their unborn sons name going to be? Doesn't know. He seems to be way off somewhere in his thoughts.
He answered all the questions fine up to this point before the phone call from the Coroner. Even some how remembers he had accidentally checked a box and has 10,000 worth of life insurance on River Lynn. Hmmm??
He gets up and leaves the room and his father follows. So the rest of us stay in there and finish the paperwork.
Shelly then directs Jeff, myself and Aaron's sister Aimee into the coffin room to pick out coffins. Aaron's Mom stays in the adjoining conference room with Shelly.
Just so horrific emotionally walking into a room full of coffins, especially for this situation.
Aaron walks in minutes later and lays on the floor and spins around on his stomach on the floor in a clockwise circle.
Next, his father announces, before he even finishes walking through the threshold of the door to enter the room that Oh, I guess, Aaron broke his hand and sits on him.
Now, Jeff and are like WOW!!! They are playing out an act to explain his injured hand. The only problem is Aaron didn't play out his part correctly. He did NOT punch a wall. It was all an act gone wrong.
His parents later tell us they are taking Aaron to the emergency room. Where its later discovered he has a broken hand and a concussion. And all this was supposively done right their in front of Kadie's father and I.
I can tell you nope did not happen that way.
The Majors allow us to go pick out the cemetery plot as they all left for the emergency room. That ended up being a good thing as painful as it was because Jeff and I took our time with this horrific task and found a beautiful spot under a large oak.
I believe something with the Coroner calling Shelly with the exact time of death really worried Aaron!
My next post will go back in time summarizing Kadie and Aaron meeting, dating, marriage and their first child, River Lynn. Then I will continue posting more about the next several days....
Thank you again so much for your prayers and support! Keep the prayers, that Aaron and his parents will go and answer the Detective's questions about them last few hours of our supposed to be mutual LOVED one's lives.
